The jailer is an upcoming Indian Tamil action comedy movie, Nelson is the writer and director of the movie. The producer is Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures. Rajinikanth, Shiva Rajkumar, Tamannaah, and Ramya Krishnan are playing the main roles in this movie. The movie was officially announced in February 2022 with the working title Thalaivar 169, while the official name of the movie title “Jailer” was announced in June, Shooting began in August 2022. The music was composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

As of now, nothing is known about Mohanlal’s part in the film, sources indicate that he will make a cameo appearance. Reports also suggest that the producers are in discussions with a big Bollywood actor to make a cameo appearance in the movie. According to reports, iconic superstar Amitabh Bachchan is in discussions to portray the character in Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer’. The special trailer for Nelson Dilipkumar’s film, published as the team’s birthday gift to Rajinikanth, revealed him as the primary character Muthuvel Pandian. Despite the fact that nothing is known about the senior actor’s character in the film, it is clear that Muthuvel Pandian is an aged man preparing for a major war. Rajinikanth’s Jailer is all set to release on April 14, 2023.
Though Rajinikanth and Shivarajkumar have a good rapport, the two haven’t worked together so far. But with the current trend of inter-regional collaborations, the two are finally coming together for a film. Other than Shivarajkumar, the film also has Hindi actor Jacki Shroff, Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, Telugu actor Sunil, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vinayakan, Redin Kingsley, and Yogi Babu in pivotal roles.
