Pa Ranjith and Arya have teamed up again for the sequel to their 2021 digital hit Sarpatta Parambarai. The prequel was released digitally due to the covid pandemic and still became a hit upon its release on Amazon Prime.
Sarpatta Parambarai, set in the 1970s, revolves around the story of a young man (Kabilan) living in segregated Madra and the challenges he faces when he decides to revive his boxing career and his clan. The film showed cast and class issues. The story is set to continue in the recently announced sequel.
Sarpatta 2 Star Cast
While the rest of the cast is still under wraps, most of the cast is expected to be retained. Actors Santhosh Prathap, Dushara Vijayan, John Vijay, Kalaiyarasan, Shabeer Kallarakkal, Pasupathy, and John Koken were seen in key roles in Sarpatta Parambarai.
Release date
Sarpatta is a boxing drama, the sequel to the film will be backed by Jatin Sethi’s Naad Studios in association with Pa Ranjith’s Neelam Production and actor Arya’s The Show People. It remains to be decided if Sarpatta Round 2 will be released in theaters or if it will be released digitally, like the first installment.
